St Michael’s Church Castletown in Castletown-Finea is 175 years old and is shrouded in history having been built during The Great Famine.
Unfortunately the church building is in need of significant repairs and the repairs are proving quite costly.
A major leak in the roof has led to the weakening of the roof structure as well as the interior and exterior plaster. However, the Church is an important community asset and despite its age, the Church is in regular use, hosting weddings and funerals, all of which are of great importance to the local congregation and the wider community.
