Local Gardaí participate in Go Purple Day highlighting domestic violence cause

Gardaí in Westmeath took part in Go Purple Day on Friday, 3 May, to highlight domestic violence issues and services they provide to prevent domestic violence. Mullingar Community Engagement Units set up stands in various locations across the town to bring further awareness at the cause

Garda Neil Donnellan attended the presentation at Harbour Place Shopping Centre alongside colleague, Garda Fiona Walsh, He said: “We are here as part of Go Purple Day. It is an initiative by our colleague in Athlone, Garda Stacey Looby. It is the third running of Go Purple Day. It is a nationwide event organised by the Garda initiative.
